Variations on an Irish Hymn Tune

About the Music...
The theme is the familiar hymn tune Slane, which was itself derived from an Irish folksong (of several hymns which use this tune, the most popular by far is Be Thou MyVision). It is played first in a setting of its familiar form, below a gentle ;Irish pennywhistle; ostinato. This is followed by seven variations and an extended finale featuringan “Irish jig” over a repeating pedal ground bass, with a climactic organ chorale comingin between the two.
Organ registration choices are largely left to the discretion of the performer, except for avery few spots where a certain color is required.
This adaptation for piano and organ was transcribed by the composer from his concertband composition of the same title (©12 Seolta Music Limited used here bypermission).
